I REALLY like Scott Novak from the Big 12. Did I hear Musburger mention that the line judge is "young Walt Coleman?" Whoever he is, the line judge is a youngin!

Hi FF7, WOW ---> I think so..... ----> Walter Coleman IV, who is working as a line judge in the Big 12 Conference. The crew: referee Scott Novak, umpire Michael Cooper, line judge Walt Coleman, field judge J Taylor, side judge Eugene Hall, Head linesman Chad Green and back judge Scott Vaughan.

Brad Allen and his crew did a nice job with the ACC Championship Game. Very few fouls and a good flow.

I was at the game, so i wasnt sure who had the white hat, but the second i saw it wasnt ron cherry, i was relieved, he loves getting on tv. i thought this was by far the best called game i had seen from acc refs all year. was it an all star crew?

Kbyrd, According to the announcers on ESPN, these were the top-rated officials at each position. So yes it was an all star crew.

Crew working the Orange Bowl did not look that strong or co-ordinated to me. I questioned where they were looking on some forward progress spots, seemed to be short of the forward progress sometimes. The deep men didn't appear to be in sync either. Who was the WH? What conference were these guys from?

What conference were these guys from? i was at the game, and the whole night they were off on spots, all the people around me were really confused haha. the WH was about as uncoordinated as I've seen, he announced only 1 penalty over the microphone and left his mic on every time he blew his whistle, making for a terrbiel screech. the BJ missed a massive DPI against Stanford in the first half. VT WR got closelined basically an no call was made. I was at the game, but from what I hear, all the radio and tv guys were confused why there was no flag. I'd give the get a C at best.

kbyrd: I agree, one biased poster gave them an A, but I think C is really a stretch...some people need to take an objective look at things sometimes.....an official can make a pretty good judgement of the goings on during any given game, without slanting the view, supposedly we're trained to have that ability, especially if he or she's been on the field for any given amount of time.
