Did not like that PF to end the quarter. I have seen much worse not called

I think after the entanglements in the 2nd quarter, they warned both sides to knock it off.

fir down!
Why does it take the guy 10 yards down the field to throw a flag for an obvious facemask when there was an official right on top of the play?

Despite all the sarcasm on this thread I will give credit where credit is due. They weren't perfect, but they were a hell of a lot better than almost any crew from last week. The game was not that difficult to Officiate, but when there are 43 points in a game, the game will usually go pretty slowly. This game had normal game speed and a decent flow. This crew was atrocious last week but they actually did a serviceable job in this game.

There's good old Ben...one of his big moments in his career.... tinyurl.com/btdktyu(close the new window after you've seen it as it goes into an endless loop unless you're a big fan of Ben Dreith. Incidentally with all the players running onto the field, shouldn't there have been off setting personal fouls on both teams negating the penalty?) Too bad Ben got the wrong guy

Solid performance by the crew tonight, but I take it with a grain of salt because the game was never close and there weren't any crazy situations that had to be sorted out.

All kidding aside, sometimes a blow out in a contact sport can become a problem for if you continue to call everything tight, you prolong the game and the more time tempers have to boil over. When I worked as a hockey official very briefly it was suggested to me that in a blow out game, yu're better off letting most of the things go late to get the game over with and get the teams off the ice (field in football) as quickly as possible. I know, I know today it's playoff ratings (as if they really exist but we've fought that fight here for years). So once a game becomes a blow out, from the officials view point, let's get it over with ASAP. I think they did that okay. Certainly as we've been saying all along another game where the officials had nothing to do with the outcome.

I've got 3 years experience working the R in NFL rules. Second to that, I'll take BJ.

I've got 3 years experience working the R in NFL rules. Second to that, I'll take BJ. Sorry R and BJ are already taken. How about U? ;D At least I'm glad we had some fun with this tonight. Too much tension with differing views is never all that much fun and the game itself as a football game was simply unwatchable because Charlotte didn't show up. Always good to spice some hunor into these things and even Fred took part. Now we can start arguing with each other again on Sunday!

I'll take my old LJ position I worked in College and Semi-Pro...had U for 18 years, got hurt, went to wing. Wished I would have went there in the first place, it's easier on the body.

As more experienced officials than I want the same position I am content being the Replay Assistant if it would allow all those who want the BJ position to be FJ or SJ if they so desire
