BTFS is pleased to announce a partnership with FootballZebras.com to expand the coverage and discussion of football officiating.
Behind the Football Stripes was born in 2003. BTFS also added a discussion format and slowly the message board became preeminent while the website went dormant. In 2009 FootballZebras was born and the blog site has become a source of inside information for many officiating fans.
FootballZebras.com and Behind the Football Stripes have both been noticed by the NFL and the officiating fraternity. We have several Division I and NFL officials who frequent both sites and we are proud that both have the respect of the officiating community.
In the past years, several writers, members, and administrators have overlapped between Behind the Football Stripes and FootballZebras.com. At this point, it seems to be a natural progression to merge these two efforts. There has never been a sense of competition between the two entities and this most certainly is not a "hostile" takeover.
So, in practicality, what does this mean for you, the loyal BTFS member and poster? In reality nothing. Your username and password will not change, you can still log in and post, and the strict code of conduct policy will still be enforced on BTFS. You will notice a different layout and some different bells and whistles in the near future.
If, in the future, there are any major changes that will impact you, we will give you plenty of warning and instructions.
BTFS will be linked to FootballZebras.com, so we will get a fresh influx of fans this fall - fans who may not understand that BTFS is not a site to flame, spew hatred, and engage in personal attacks. We ask for your patience as we "educate" new members as to what BTFS is all about.
Thank you for your time, and please contact the moderators or administrators if you have any questions.
