Does anyone have a list of playoff officials since the 2002 season that were alternates but got into games due to injury or otherwise as well as who they replaced? I think John Schleyer replaced John McGrath once, Walt Coleman at a pro bowl, and Carl Johnson and Mike Weir were involved in a subbing.

In 1987 (game in 1988), R Jerry Seeman (70) replaced then FJ Dick Dolack (31) in the 4th quarter.

There was a playoff game in San Francisco in the early 90s where the recently deceased HL Sid Semon entered the game in the second half. I will check my old notes to see what game was.
Of course, in the 1975 Hail Mary game between Dallas and Minnesota, FJ Armen Terzian was hit by a bottle thrown from the stands and was replaced by Charley Musser in the final seconds of the game.

Tony Veteri, Jr., had to leave a 2008 playoff game in Seattle. I forget who came in for him....

Didn't Carl Johnson come in for someone in a conference title game a few years ago?
My notes have him replacing someone in the Bal/Pit AFC title game (Carollo's last game) but I don't have down who he replaced.

I found the gamebook: it was a Washington-San Francisco Divisional playoff in 1992. Sid Semon replaced Sanford Rivers in the second half due to a leg injury: www.nflgsis.com/1992/post/02/16509/Gamebook.pdf

In the late 80s or early 90s, Pat Mallette (FJ82) had to leave a playoff game as he was run over on a long TD run.

Someone on YouTube has evidence that Gordon Wells subbed in at Line Judge during a 1974 NFC Divisional Playoff between the Redskins and Rams. Jack Fette apparently moved over to Head Linesman, so it must have been a double substitution. Have no idea on who was originally the HL that day in LA.
