The ACC announced that Doug Rhoads is retiring as coordinator of football officials. Doug was a back judge for 29 years before becoming ACC coordinator in 2007. The ACC says it will conduct a national search for Mr. Rhoads' replacement.

Jack Childress would be another name worth considering. Of course, Childress was one of the ACC's top white hats before becoming coordinator for the Southern Conference a few years ago.

Apparently Mr. Rhoads is not slated to retire until later this year, so it would not seem there is any great hurry to name his replacement.
