www.worldleagueofamericanfootball.com/id158.htmlRecently I found this list of officials who worked in the WLAF (the pre-NFL Europe) in It's insugural season. What got my atention is that there were some officials who have been retired/fired from the NFL for some years and worked there (like Duwayne Gandy, Tom Myers and David Parry, and USfL's Bill Parkinson). Also, there were officials who weren't active in the NFL at that time like Jeff Rice and Tony Veteri, Jr. (For the récord, that's Carl Paganelli, Sr.).

Thought the NFL used the WLAF/NFLE as a training ground for officials, not for officials who were fired?
