Brad Allen does not live in the immediate Charlotte area, so I don't think they would keep him away from the Panthers, although he is yet to work a game in Charlotte. He did have the Panthers at Minnesota last season.

Because of the extraordinary circumstances of Morelli's crew being bumped off of the SNF game, Torbert's crew has only a 3 week return trip to Pittsburgh.

Heading into Week 13, there are four referees who have yet to officiate on MNF: Walt Anderson, Clete Blakeman, Jerome Boger and Jeff Triplette. Boger is NOT eligible for DAL@WAS, having already worked two Redskins' games, while Triplette recently officiated DAL@MIA in Week 11. Therefore, DAL@WAS will likely either be Anderson or Blakeman. If Triplette gets a MNF assignment, CIN@DEN (Week 16) would be the only game that he is eligible for. He would NOT be eligible for NYG@MIA (Week 14) or DET@NO (Week 15); he has already officiated the Dolphins and Lions twice this season. Triplette won't get a MNF this year which means someone gets two MNF games this year. I hate it when they can't schedule each crew for a TNF, MNF, and a regularly scheduled SNF game even if it gets flexed out later. One time Ron winter had 3 Thursday games in a short span which was ridiculous.

Speaking of past referees not working a team because they live in or near the city, I remember the case of Chuck Heberling, who as a referee from 1972-1985 never worked a Steelers game. Then he retired, but because Fred Silva got sick he returned and worked a Steelers-Packers game in Pittsburgh in 1986. Interestingly, Jerry Markbreit (who is from Chicago) had to work the famous Bears-Packers game in Chicago when he ejected Charles Martin, and I think that Markbreit had very few (if any) Bears game in his career. Also, I would be interested if Ben Dreith, Pat Haggerty and Bob Frederic (all of them from the Denver área) worked Broncos games in their careers.
By the way, Gene Steratore is from the Pittsburgh area, and he has worked Steelers games, both in Pittsburgh and in the road (but none since 2010).

I'm sure CHI/GB was the only regular season Bear game Markbreit ever did. He did do a few preseason Bear games (two I remember...one on his final season, and another one (when the PBS station here had a mini-newsbreak (only in voiceover form) it was showing different Chicago things, like buildings, landmarks, and a five second clip of a Bear field goal or extra point, and then a shot of him making the good sign [when they still showed that all the time], while the screens were moving from side to side).

In the famous GB/CHI game that Markbreit did, he was a last-minute switch from another crew, although I don't remember who.
