Dan Capron is the R.
We're looking to nail down the rest of the crew.
Post officiating observations here.

Don't know who is the centre judge (I was gonna guess Brent Durbin but he already worked a bowl game)

Some notes on the crew:
-Capron had worked the NY6/BCS or the Big Ten Championship 5 out of the last 6 seasons. He's quietly become one of the top R's in the country
- Feaster was hired in 2014. Worked as a CJ in 2014-2015 and has spent the last 2 years as a U. Worked the NY6 each of the last 2 seasons. He was in the ADP last year and could very well be yet another Big Ten Umpire to make the NFL. Worked 2016 Big Ten Championship.
-Stumberg was hired in 2014 as a CJ. He was the only one of these 8 Officials to not work a Bowl game last season. Worked NY6 in 2014 and Big Ten Championship in 2015.
-Dolce is working his second National Championship game and at least his 8th NY6/BCS game, I think it might be even more. Worked 2015 Big Ten Championship. One of the most decorated Officials in the Big Ten for many years.
-Holt is in his 4th year in the Big Ten. He spent the last 3 as a CJ and was switched to LJ this year. Worked the NY6 last year and the Big Ten Champ this year. A definite NFL candidate IMO.
-Hayes is working his 3rd straight NY6 game. He worked the Big Ten champ this year as well.
-Edwards is a former ADP candidate who was shockingly removed this season. This is his 4th year in the Big Ten and he has worked the NY6 in all 4 seasons. Worked the Big Ten champ in 2015.
-Smith is in his 4th season and the only member of this crew who has not previously worked NY6. He worked the Big Ten champ last season. In his second season as a FJ after working as a SJ in 2014 and 2015.

Another interesting note, 5 of these 8 Officials were hired in 2014 and 3 of them were originally CJ's. That is probably one of the best hiring jobs I have ever seen from any league in any sport College or pro.

Gotta get it started right. Referee Dan Capron was very calm, cool and in control of the coin toss. These coin tosses can get sideways sometimes, but we had a very nice ceremony.

Capron, working in possibly the loudest arena of his career, using a plastic pea whistle old school.

Missed facemask and missed false start, but other than that, this crew is calling a good game.

6:52 | 3rd qtr. On the 80-yard touchdown run (see photo above), the replay official ruled the touchdown "stands" even though it "looks" like the player's heel "could" have been on the sideline. Alabama fans say he's obviously out of bounds. Georgia fans say it's inconclusive.
The replay official has a high threshold of "indisputable" evidence. "Looks" and "could" are not indisputable in the replay official's opinion.
If you are mad at the replay result, remember, fans have been upset with NFL replay for over-officiating replays this year.
