What are your thoughts on Bill Haller cussing at Earl Weaver? At least Hallion didn't call Collins names or accuse Collins of sodimus conduct like Collins did to the HP umpire.
MLB gave the umpires a heads up to watch out for something since there were hard feelings from last year.
Umpires did what they were told.
Actually, Hallion did a great job diffusing situations and getting Collins away from a rookie HP umpire.
For the record, I do not like bad language and do my best to control my emotions when I officiate. But, when people are around a workplace that uses the "f" word as a noun, adjective, linking verb, conjunction, verb and gerund, it is bound to slip out of the most disciplined person.

The only thing I will say to you is the game was played a couple of years ago on the heels of the Dodger-Met brouhaha in the 2015 playoffs. I don't go for throwing at batters but the pitch was nowhere near the batter and represented no threat to him. It should have been a warning and that would have been the end of it. There was a capacity crowd that night and they sure didn't come to see the umpires take over the game; but that's my opinion. Or they should have warned both teams before the game started. Again, just my opinion. It's all part of the new way sports are played to be politically correct.

Whether he agrees with Hamari's decision or not he is not going to throw his rookie Umpire under the bus there. He handled it perfectly IMO.

mlb pulled the video off you tube. Very thin skinned on their part.

I replaced the broken video link above.
In my opinion, the ends justify the means. The last line of dialogue was "you got everything out?" or, in other words, I allowed you to get that off your chest. The entire argument was fairly short as a result, and not some slow-burning rambling show for the home crowd.

MLB probably didn't like the "@$$ in a jackpot" line because it doesn't look good for MLB especially since nobody was hit. My personal opinion is that if Noah wanted to hit him he would have. If he hit Utley eject him, but throwing behind should have merited a warning to both sides that payback is complete and anything else there will be ejections.
