Absolutely. By game's end, 3B umpire David Rackley was handling the lineup cards. Also, between innings, Hunter would go into the visitor's dugout and get some water and toweled off. The ballboy would bring a new supply of baseballs to Rackley, who held them until Wendelstedt came back out. If the game had somehow made it to extra innings, I wouldn't have been shocked if Larry Vanover took over behind the plate.

Before the start of the game today, Cubs radio announcers made special mention to praise Wendelstedt's work yesterday. They also said that Joe Maddon came out to third base to shake the umpires hand in the pregame to compliment him on the job.
