Who had the Iowa State cancelled game? Romeo? Shelton? I'm thinking Shelton. On Thursday David Alvarez worked with Dan Romeo's crew from last season. That tells me that Romeo might have retired and Alvarez moved up from MWC to Big 12.

That's "filler" crew. McNeil was taken off his crew to lead it. They have done the same with Mike Cuttone.

Who replaced Land Clark in the PAC 12 as crew chef?
Who did the same in the Big 10 with Don Willard?

Who replaced Land Clark in the PAC 12 as crew chef? Who did the same in the Big 10 with Don Willard? From what I can tell Jay Edwards was moved from from C-USA Referee to Pac-12 Referee. The replacement of Willard is more diffcult to tell. Greg Blum worked with a Big Ten crew in Week 1 and was a CJ in the Big Ten last year. But before that he was a very good MAC Referee so he would make a ton of sense as the new Referee. We will probably know for sure in a few weeks who replaced Willard but after Week 1 it seems like Blum.

That entire crew was MWC Officials and with Alvarez seemingly moving up to the Big 12 they need a new Referee. It is not unheard of to see an Official move from a black hat in the Big 12 to a white hat in the MWC. Off the top of my head Kevin Mar, Scott Campbell, and Marvel July did that.

Sorry for the late post, but here are some more Saturday refs I jotted down:
Austin Peay at Georgia - James Carter Central Michigan at Kentucky - Matt Loeffler Appalachian State at Penn State - Mark Kluczynski Washington State at Wyoming - Kevin Hassell North Carolina at California - David Epperley Indiana at FIU - Dan Capron UTSA at Arizona State - Javarro "Jay" Edwards
FOX's Chris Myers identified the UTSA - ASU officials as being a Conference USA crew. Unless he made a mistake, that would suggest Edwards did not move to the PAC-12. I guess we will find out as the weeks progress.

Oregon State@ Ohio State- Matt Austen An SEC crew for this game. Unusual for a game not on s neutral site. Is this something new they're trying? For a non-conference game, both schools have to agree on which officials to use. Usually the visiting school officials work the game (for instance the PAC-12 would normally supply a crew in this game). Sometimes schools can't agree on which officials to use for each game, or they feel that the game is so intense that they want a neutral conference calling the game. The Big 10 has provided officials for the Kentucky - Louisville annual non-conference football game for many years.

McNeill could be a new MWC Referee, but I haven't heard anything. He White Hatted one game last season too. I would think Cuttone is next on the list to be full time Referee as he has been given the most assignments as a fill in Referee. Steve Baron went full time Referee last season for the MWC when Kevin Mar left for the PAC 12. Scott Campbell went full time in the Big 12 for Randy Christal I think??

McNeill is the new MWC Referee. Romeo retired and Alvarez is now Big 12.

The reason I say Edwards is in the Pac-12 is because his entire crew was Pac-12 Officials. I think Myers got confused because Edwards was a C-USA Referee last season.

Edwards worked the Oregon game in Week 2. It's funny that Myers even knew Edwards used to be in C-USA, let alone said that on the air. I wonder if someone gave him the wrong info. Either way, you were on the money!
