Glad for Novak. Surprised at Hill since he's been passed over several times.
I think Brad Rogers, and Land Clark/Don Willard have next.
Corrente will turn 68 next season. Walt Anderson is most likely in his 60s, and Boger is in his early 60s.
Hill will turn 55 this year, making for a 5-10 year tenure at the white hat. The NFL hopes to get 10-15 years out of a white hat.

Novak had been my top choice. Rogers and Clark I had behind him, but perhaps NFL felt that with a few opportunities likely in the near future that it might be worth seeing if Rogers and Clark can continue to perform consistently. I know NFL likes young Referees, but I think they don’t want to be in a similar bind as MLB will likely face with a large group around the same age retiring in a short timeframe. I wonder if Steratore and McAulay abruptly leaving the field also had something to do with it so Hill slides into the remaining timeframe of one of them had they remained in NFL.
