Dean Blandino was on WSCR-AM in Chicago today, and said, "Replay was supposed to be a safety net; now it's a crutch."
He said the excellent officials aren't afraid to make a call and not think about replay. Others officiate with the idea making a call and have replay bail them out.
Thoughts?

I think the difficulty is that they are told to make the decision if they are sure or let it go if they aren't.
With the speed of the modern game, they are erring on the side of letting it go more, especially when you hear commentators go on about letting it play out just in case!
