Congrats to McDaid!! Unfortunately this takes him off the field but I have no doubt he will prove to be succesful in his next venture. I also love Steve Shaw as the new National Coordinator of Officials, he did a fantastic job as the head of SEC Officials.
As for who replaces McDaid as a new White Hat it will probably be one of the current CJ's. Chris Snead, Jason McArthur, Kevin Boitmann and Ted Pitts all have White Hat experience in Group of 5 Conferences.

Congrats to John McDaid! McArthur has done some early season out of conference games for SEC although Snead has probably the best track record of high profile games at CJ of that group.

Congratulations, John! He's an excellent official and should do a great job in this role. This is the second year in a row the SEC has lost a high-quality white hat, following Matt Austin's depature for ESPN. Bring back Penn Wagers!!

You always remember who was good to you when you were trying to start. McDaid was at Nashville airport and spent an hour talking to me about how to get started. I will never forget that.

Thanks for posting. It’s very nice to hear that John McDaid was so generous with his time. He comes off as rather stern on TV, so it’s good to know that he was so kind and helpful to you. Has anyone here ever met any CFB white hats and left with really positive (or negative) impressions?
