Can't tell much from skycam, but the receiver lost a step, so I say good defensive hold on the Ravens. Paganelli threw it.

Administrative time out? Kills the Ravens inertia

Administrative time out? Kills the Ravens inertia Referee Shawn Smith pauses the game for an "administrative timeout" and apparently Football Operations communicated with CBS to take a commercial break. There was an unauthorized drone over the stadium

Referee Shawn Smith is in good position that the ball was already out of Lamar Jackson's hands by the time his arm started forward.
Empty hands fumble is recovered by George Karlaftis and both Smith and umpire Roy Ellison are on the fumble call.

By rule, when the defense tips a pass, all offensive players are eligible receivers.
So Lamar Jackson catching his own tipped pass is completely legal.

Travis Jones gives Shawn Smith the easiest call of the day. A no-doubt roughing the passer call as Jones hits Patrick Mahomes in the head.
Centralized replay can step in on this play to consider an ejection if they think the foul is flagrant. But an ejection wasn't on the table. This was the second in back-to-back personal foul penalties on the Ravens.

All game the officiating crew has been working to keep players separated. At the start of the Chiefs drive to end the 2nd quarter, there was some post-play pushing and even the alternate officials came out onto the field to create separation.
While this was being separated, Kyle Van Noy came in to administer a light hit and was flagged for unnecessary roughness. In this case, it's not the roughness, but the fact that it was unnecessary. Because the crew was successfully gaining separation, Van Noy reignited things, and that is why he was singled out in the dead-ball period

I think the officiating dept could put the Zay Flowers taunt video in the rule book. No doubt.

Zay Flowers catches a 54-yard pass to the 10-yard line. He then inexplicably shoves the Chiefs defender, spins the ball and verbally taunts the defender.
This is the first unsportsmanlike conduct foul on Flowers. One more unsportsmanlike foul and Flowers will be ejected from the game.
A silly reaction after a great play. And a good call by the officials.

Ravens start the fourth quarter with a fumble by Zay Flowers right after his ill-advised taunting foul. The ball was recovered in the end zone by the Chiefs for a touchback.
Great call in real time as replay confirmed the call on the field.

Jadevon Clowney takes an extra step, lowers his head and contacts Patrick Mahomes after the pass.
The key on this play is Clowney lowered his head and initiated contact with his helmet.
The NFL wants this play out of the game and the officials will call that every time.
