I was able to get Pereira to answer another one of my questions this week. Here it is:
1:25 [Comment From Zach from CO] What would happen in an emergency situation (i.e. a tornado, blizzard, or earthquake) if a massive power outage caused a stadium to be without power for 24 hours or more? Would the game have to be suspended and continued once it is deemed safe to play the game, or would the game be terminated with the team that is ahead being declared the winner?
1:26 Mike Pereira: The game will continue from the point it was interrupted. If it's not able to be resumed at the site where it is being played, the commissioner, at his sole discretion, will decide another date and even another venue if necessary.
If the game in New York was not able to be resumed that night, I feel the commissioner would have had Dallas stay over another night and resume the game Monday during the day.
While I was following the chat, I couldn't help but think that there are a lot of schmucks who participate and ask stupid questions during the chat. I know that we don't get to see all of the questions, so I'm sure that there are more that are even more ridiculous questions than the ones we saw today.
Good for Pereira for setting some of these people straight.

How much Paperwork is involved when an NFL Referee has to toss and NFL Player from the field??? Is it a real headache?? Tuesday November 16, 2010 1:06 SportingBecky 1:08 Mike P...ereira: Hi Becky. I missed you last week!
If a player is ejected, a referee must file a disqualification form to the league office immediately after the game. The official that is the actual person who made the call must file a report explaining the exact reasons for the ejection. These reports will be used by the league to determine further discipline.
By the way, a player who is ejected must leave the field and the bench area in a reasonable amount of time. He can only return and watch the game from the stands.LOL--- He missed me.. cause he did not do his chat last week.... ;D

Interesting...he said two of the biggest game deciding calls of the weekend were absolutely wrong. There clearly, according to him, was a very blatant opi on the winning td in the Atlanta-Baltimore game...one which would have moved Atlanta back fo the 42 yard line with 20 seconds left...enough time to make a play to get into fg position to win but no sure thing either.
He also agreed the dpi call that led to the ot winning field goal in the SF-StL game was a bad call as the pass was clearly not catchable.
He also agreed that so far this year the officiating has not been up to par (easy for him to say since he's not there) and he said it might be because of a new administration and new emphasis on various things.
