Terry MacAulay's crew deserves an A for their work in the Washington-Tennessee game. Three critical calls, all of which they nailed. I was particularly glad to see Randy Moss called for offensive pass interference. Also, MacAulay made a good roughing the passer call for helmet to helmet against Tennesee. And a Redskins OL had his helmet ripped off, which kept Washington's winning drive alive. The titans really lost their composure on that last drive. Saw the helmet-to-helmet hit on the NBC highlight package. GREAT and gutsy call.

Hochuli's crew made a very poor judgment call at the end of the first half when they awarded a timeout to Cincinnati with 1 second left. The play was a forward progress situation where the CIN runner was stopped at the 1 yard line by BUF with :01 left on the clock. However the play was not whistled dead until 0:00. Even so, Cincinnati did not appear to call timeout at the point where forward progress was stopped... yet Hochuli awarded the timeout and put :01 back on the clock and they kicked a FG to end the half.
It did not affect the outcome of the game with BUF winning, but it was a call that I don't think someone makes unless they are 100% sure the timeout came in time... particularly given that it was the "home" clock that read 0:00. Maybe it did come, but I doubt it - what bench have you ever seen call timeout before the whistles blew?

Uhmmmm Tony Dungy on Football Night in America said that The Steelers Coach was saying that the Officials in the Raiders VS Steelers game let it get out of control. ----> Grrrrrrrr... Tony Corrente and his Crew always do a Great job... Maybe it is --------> THE COACHING of the Players that need work.. Hello Mike Tomlin... Um it is a heated rivalry dating back to the 70s. It was dormant for years when the Raiders stunk. Now that the Raiders are relevant, the rivalry is back.

Giants got away with a hold that would have been called had the U been in his usual position. Al Michaels has been at least professional when talking about Ron Winter so far tonight.

Good helmet to helmet call by Julian Mapp on the Eagles #22.

I'm liking that class of 2008 with Mapp and Blakeman already, along with the others from that rookie class.

Hill and Reels nailed that DPI. Pretty obvious, but a call you CAN'T miss.

I don't like that overturned fumble/interception by Winter. I think the original ruling should have remained, even if it had gone the other way. It was close, and the wrist looked like it could have been down, but I don't think there was enough to overturn anything. Other than that, so far, a good game by Winter & crew.

Winter got that call right.
And he's going to get the Manning fumble right as well.
Another two tough calls made right by Winter and his crew.

Actually Philly should have challenged the play because it looked like as the Eagle was going to the ground after the INT, he was touched.

This was a tough game for Winter's crew to officiate. Both lines were very grabby making for hard judgments regarding holding or nothing.
Michalek with a good chop block call. Zimmer, Howey, and Reels had a really good game. Stephan and Mapp also worked well. Mapp is a really good official.
I'm also pleasantly surprised at how professional Al Michaels was with only one sarcastic comment that I heard regarding Ron Winter. Maybe the folks at NBC told him no one cares about his personal opinions about the officials.
I give this crew a very solid "A" for this game.

I thought the same thing...that when the pass was intercepted, a Giant brushed by the intercepter while he was on the ground....there really should have been an Eagle challenge....tough game to work...for the most part they let them play and a couple of close calls near the end. Give them a B+

Bad call on Suh of Detroit on the horse collar. He pulled on the guy's hair and not the shoulder pads. Saw the highlight. All hair, no horse collar. Ding on that call, unfortunately.

That's a simple crutch coaches use to deflect the spotlight from their team and the stupid things they do on the field. Reminds me of the coach who once said to me, "if you guys keep letting it go like this, I won't be responsible for what my players might do." Wrong.
