I have heard it fourth hand that Bill Lemonnier will be officiating the spring football game at Nebraska. The new Big 10 team insisted that the "national championship referee" officiate the spring game.
My fourth hand "source" says Lemonnier "could" be back this season.
Or, it could be one last hurrah and a nod to Nebraska's arrival in the Big 10?
If Lemonnier is back, I'll speculate as to why when (if) his return is confirmed.
Insider info appreciated.

ITK said that LeMonnier was going to hang it up after the BCS Tittle Game (one of the most well-officiated games in recent years, BTW), so I'm going to trust what he says until I hear something from another insider.
Bill might have another good year or two left, but I think it would be good for him to go out with the national championship as his last "official" game.

Good to know that Bill is coming back. Could it be that he is keeping the seat warm until Bill Carollo is ready to promote someone like Scott McElwee to the Big 10 full time?

It sounds like it was a simple change of the mind on Mr. Lemonnier's part. I had some other theories, but we're all allowed to change our minds, right? If we can pick up a flag on the field, we can also unretire!
