Shawn Hochuli(NFL Referee Ed Hochuli's Son) was a Back Judge in NCAA Division 1 BIG XII & now a White Hat in Arena Football & was recently hired to be a White Hat in the PAC 12 Football.

Big news! Big exposure to Shawn! He's still quite young so his NFL window is WIDE open!

He was probably hired a few months ago, but Pac 12 crews most likely came out recently...Might be youngest BCS Referee in NCAA

And NFL white hat within 10 years. Remember he has a couple of seasons in the Big 12 so he's almost at his required five seasons worth of Division I college experience.

And I think before the Big 12 he had some experience in the Western Athletic Conference or some such. I bet he'll put in a year or two as a Pac-12 white hat to build his resume for an NFL white hat, and then put his application in.

Shawn Hochuli has also been a White Hat in Arena Football too! He is only 32yrs old.....
I am thinking the NFL does not want to promote him till he is @ least 35+ yrs old

He is having a Jerry Markbreit-like assent at this moment.
Markbreit was 30 when he joined the Big 10, and 33 when he worked his first Big 10 game as a referee.
As long as Shawn keeps working, improving, and remembers to put his black pants on one leg at a time (almost said knickers!) I predict he'll make it all the way to the NFL.

If I am not mistaken MP is working with the Pac-12 officials this year. That will help him improve and get to the NFL.

If MP hired SH to be a WH in his conference, I amend my earlier prediction to say that SH is in the NFL within 3 years.
Since he has AFL Referee experience, he'll fit in nicely to the spot, and I bet the job is really to see if he can work with a larger spotlight. Once he proves that he can, he'll be in.
