Ozzie must have itching to get run tonight - he hadn't been ejected all year: mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=14216897And in inimitable Ozzie style, he Tweeted from the clubhouse: "Big man show up tonight." To which MLB will probably tweet back: "Big man $10,000 poorer today" ;D

Ozzie stayed out there way to long for my liking. And for what it's worth, I don't like the fact that there isn't much of a "penalty" when a player/manager gets tossed from a game. Sure, the player's bat might not be in the lineup for the rest of the night, but that's all that happens. When you get tossed from a football game, you cost your team 15 yards. When you get launched in basketball, the opposing team (usually) gets two free throws. There's no solution for this in baseball, it just frustrates me.

I think the next crew chief will be either Wally Bell or Angel Hernandez. Like Balkin' Bob I do not think Angel Hernandez deserves to ever be a crew chief (in fact I thought his resignation in 1999 should have been accepted by the league) although he has definitely turned the confrontation down a notch to start the year. My next three choices for Crew Chief if I were a betting man would be Bell, Jim Joyce, and Larry Vanover Also here is a better link for the "overslide": mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=14238339&topic_id=11493214&c_id=mlbI wonder if Terry Collins will get someting for bumping Marvin Hudson although it appears he was just trying to muscle his way in between Hudson and third base coach Chip Hale to prevent something else from happening. Even though Hairston Jr. tried to force Reyes's hand off the bag he never did as the fingers stayed in contact (even if part of the wrist came off) - bad call

How can you suspend anybody when there was no ejection?

Evidently at some point in the argument, the umpire told Collins that he had blown it because Collins suddenly backed off and didn't really continue anything from the dugout. But if the umpire realizes he blew it, why not change the call to the correct call? I've seen plenty of times umpires admit they made a mistake but it's a correctible mistake, isn't it?

Not sure if Hudson admitted a mistake or said to Collins that he thought he was right but after the game he would check the replay and if he was wrong he would let Collins know. Fortunately the Mets bats came alive in the top of the Ninth so it did not change the outcome (and if anything it worked in the Mets favor because if the game had been tied going to the 9th Washington likely puts in a different reliever)

That was an unbelievably bad call by Hudson. Reyes didn't overslide the bag and it wasn't even close. I'm amazed that no one was tossed after that exchange.

Hudson got (2) Braves in the ninth today, a terrible strike three call, the ball was 4" below the knees and he rung up the batter, he said a terrible call and got bounced, then the manager got bounced. Next batter the same pitch was ball four. Where did Hudson come from, he is rookie league material. I'm glad I wouln't have to write an evaluation on this guy.

Alex Gonzalez of the Braves was run by Marvin Hudson most likely because of the gestures he made after being called out. I believe he had a beef on the call, but he could have said his peace without showing Hudson up. As far as Fredi gonzalea is concerned, he must have said the magic word or words.

JayJay, what are you talking about? i was watching this game live and it was absolutely a strike. It hit the low corner. And FYI, Hudson has been in the league for 12 years. I gurantee you if he didn't have that highly publicized blown call on Wednesday you would have said nothing. That being said, He seemed to have a short fuze on the Fredi Gonzalz ejection. Gonzalez didn't even seem that upset and Hudson dumped him right away.

Milton Bradley at it again. This is a pretty bad video that doesn't show the actual ejection. But Milton Bradley defineatley deserved to get tossed. Right after Eric Wedge's argument, Milton Bradley was hollering at Todd Ticenor and was immediately ejected by Gerry Davis. Then Bradley got right into Davis's face and got heated. When is Bradley going to learn to shut up? mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=14327199
