A new show on the MLB today...
Of course, these will be the ones they have film/video of! Still, how mny want to take bets this one will be there:
"You're WRONG Earl!"
Actually, if they had the tape, they could do whole separate shows with Earl and Haller...Earl and Brinkman, and of of course, Earl and Luciano....

Earl and Steve Palermo, Earl and Richie Garcia, etc. In August 1980, i was at Memorial Stadium when Earl had it out with Garcia and Palermo. Earl bumped Garcia (for which he was suspended three games) and kicked dirt between Palermo's legs and all over home plate. The thus inspired Orioles went on to lose 4-1 to the Yankees.

Earl was great with the umps. Earl vs Luciano #1 Earl vs Palermo #2 Earl always got upset when he ran out of his Raleigh Filter Kings in the middle of games. Saw him at a signing last Saturday, he looks great.

Saw him at a signing last Saturday, he looks great. That happened a LOT when he had to use Don 'Two Pack" Stanhoise in a game... It had to be REALLY stressful to be an American League umpire in the mid to late 70's 3/4 of the managers around were REAL jerks - Martin, Weaver, Mauch, Herzog, it goes on and on.....

Watched it, and as predicted, a lot of recent stuff...
A LOT of Pienella....a lot of Milton Bradley...
Brinkman getting Dwight Gooden in the 98 ALDS
Alomar spitting on Hirschbeck
Bobby V's ejection, then sitting in the dugout 'disguised'
Earl in the 69 WS
Nailing Neikro with the nail file
and so on.....
But was not disappointed - "You're WRONG, Earl!" was #2 - only behind the Pine Tar Incident....

Interesting to hear Shag Crawford getting caught using "F Bomb" towards Earl in 1969 WS.
Earl and Haller is a classic.....too bad Bill Haller retired at a fairly young age in 1981 or 82 at roughly 50 years old, he was a good one.

Nice to see some umpires like Harry Wendelstedt, Jim Evans, Terry Cooney, and Ken Kaiser. Good video.

If Haller had stuck it out a while longer, he might have been HOF material. And if Palermo had not had that tragedy of getting shot, he DEFINITELY was HOF material...

How the heck does Bill Hohn not made the list? I'm sooooo disappointed! Hohn has had to of had something worthwhile. Also mad they didn't show Shulock give the catcher his brush when Pinellia covered HP in dirt.

Hohn has missed alot of time due to injuries and labor strife during his career which may have helped him fly under the radar in terms of aggressiveness.
He is definitely old school.

any idea which umpire holds the record for career ejections? and how many joe west has? You can research this at retrosheet.org. According to that site, Bill Klem has over 200 ejections in a 37 year career. Froemming has over 100 in a 37 year career.
