Wow. Throat cancer is hit or miss. Almost got Doug Harvey but he pulled through. I'm impressed that Mr. Corrente's body can stand the stress and strain of cancer treatments and still officiate. However, Walt Anderson was able to go through treatment for melanoma a few years ago and not miss time. I'll be praying for Mr. Corrente and hope all will be well.

I wonder if this was recently diagnosed or if this has been an issue for him for a few years. Either way, it is a very serious illness and I pray all the best for him.

This might explain why he missed the game in Arizona a couple of weeks back. Let's hope that they caught it soon enough. Cancer is a terrible thing.

My father-in-law had esouphegeal cancer, it was not an easy thing to watch, the Great Physician mercifully called him home. This was 20 years ago, there have been a number of breakthoughs in treatment for this type of cancer, if this is the type Tony has. He stands a better chance with the treatments today. Our prayers for a successful treatment and speedy recovery.

My thoughts and prayers for Tony Corrente.
By the way, if you haven't had the opportunity to see/review Sunday's work, his crew, perhaps, had the best called game of any crew this season during the NY Giants @ SF 49ers game.

Saw the 49ers-NYG game Hank...you are correct. Very well officiated by Tony Corrente and crew. It says something that in the face of such adversity, Corrente goes out there and gives us his best effort and a great result. Let's get behind him and give the best of thoughts and prayers to help him take this on.

Bump. Tony Corrente has been out of action for at least two weeks. Cancer treatments can take a temporary toll on the body and this is probably the reason he is on the sideline - he needs his rest.
For those of faith, please keep sending up those prayers.
If anyone on this site knows Mr. Corrente, please pass along our best wishes and prayers to him.
