What did you think of the crew?

Walt Anderson's crew on the call tonight.
Glad to see Butch Hannah working the game after missing time earlier this year.

I like Walt Anderson. With Green and Corrente missing time with injuries and illness I could see him working a Conference Championship game this year

Billy Smith, BJ2, is one on the few remaining NFL officials who carry their primary penalty flag in their back pocket with the flag sticking out.

Why are Anderson and crew wearing long sleeves? It is 66 degrees in Jacksonville.

It took them until this week in Pittsburgh to wear long sleeves. Him and McAulay have only worn short sleeves once this year while Anderson and Winter have worn them seven times. Yes I have been weirdly following this the whole season. I don't know why I care so much.

For what it's worth, I think the NFL should do away with the rule that says black pants can only be worn with long sleeve shirts. Black pants and short sleeves have worked well in college football and I don't see any reason the NFL can't follow suit.

I'll be really surprised if the NFL doesn't follow suit next year.

Minnesota did away with the knickers. It's kind of odd to watch the officials run around in black pants and short sleeves inside the Metrodome for the championship games.

Illinois is fine w/black pants, but they must be worn only w/long sleeves. Not this past year. Craig Anderson on the IHSA made the point that we could wear short sleves and black pants as long as everyone matches at the IACO clinic this year. Lots of crews in Chicagoland wore black pants from day one this year.

Craig Anderson on the IHSA made the point that we could wear short sleves and black pants as long as everyone matches at the IACO clinic this year. Lots of crews in Chicagoland wore black pants from day one this year. Some of us were instructed differently. I do see however, from minutes of the football advisory committee, that there was no direction or preference from coaches as to when black should be worn, so they left it to Craig. (Then again, when have all our football clinicians all had the same opinion? )
