This first quarter in Denver is an officials' dream! Keep it on the ground an inbounds. Keep that clock rolling!

Pete Morelli getting tons of air time in Green Bay: 5 flags already against the Raiders, including 3 offside calls.
What will the over/under be for penalties for the Lions-Raiders game next week?

Controversial ending to the Vikings-Lions game today: bit.ly/vOj2KUPereira tweets about the matter Det-Min game.Foul occurred while player's back was to ref & player was running away. Ref was in correct position, but foul was hard to see.and FWIW, I am not excusing a missed facemask. I am trying to explain to you all WHY the call was not made. He couldn't see foul.

Second RTP on Chicago was a good one. Hit Tebow at the knees.

I have an idea: I can get the NFL a below wholesale price on a whole bunch of velcro and colored, vinyl flags, 2 inches by 9 inches. Then, we can issue two flags to each player and have them affix one hanging from each hip. When a defender removes a flag from an offensive player who is in possession of the ball, the down is dead.
That's what this game has become when it is officiated as directed today.

Walt Anderson's crew had an excellent day in Charlotte. There was one skirmish involving Steve Smith that I thought migh draw a flag but didn't. Also, there was an OPI early in the game against Roddy White of the Falcons that appeared to be rather tight. A solid 3.8 for Anderson's crew.

How many times have we heard Periera either pre or post retirement from the NFL say that the instructions to the officials, for safety reasons, is when in doubt, throw the flag. The athletes, of course, are bigger and faster than they've ever been. They (the league office) also seems to want if there is any doubt on a pass play to favor the offense. It becomes hard to blame the officials for doing what they're told to do but of course one gets the opinion that certain calls might be made in a play ivolving Tom Brady than in a play involving Mark Sanchez just to pick examples...of course we never hear anything from Carl Johnson one way or the other.

After watching the Broncos and Bears battle to a 0-0 tie after one half, I can confidently say that Cheffers' crew is the best team out there.

Pete Morelli has looked strong in Green Bay. With Green/Corrente having missed time with injuries I think Pete should work the Super Bowl

Kooky game in Denver today.
Cheffers' crew did a nice job. A few missed calls that I saw, but nothing horrid.
3.45

Triplette in Washington with a 1.9. Big mistakes slowed the game down.
