Great Group of Officials.....Every year there is a surprise of who gets an assignment and one who does not.....I believe we will see two White Hats get their first game this year.
Alot of posts pick Clete Blakeman, including myself. I believe this year's sleeper pick will be Carl Cheffers.

Has Steratore worked a CC? If so, he is my pick for SB.

Has Steratore worked a CC? If so, he is my pick for SB. He has worked two wild card games and one divisional game as a referee, but not a conference championship.

Are officials required to work a CC before they work a Super Bowl? Off the top of my head, I know that Scott Green didn't work a CC before he was assigned to a Super Bowl and I don't think Mike Carey worked a CC before he got the big game.

A CC at a prior position counts at the white hat. So, Ron Winter, who worked a CC as LJ, is eligible for the Super Bowl.

So is Steratore. He worked the 2005 AFC Championship as a Field Judge.

I would be surprised if Steratore gets the Super Bowl this year... as I heard he has had a couple downgrades this season.... Probably gonna be Morelli, Parry, Hochuli, WColeman or McAulay.

Probably gonna be Morelli, Parry, Hochuli, WColeman or McAulay. in my non-expert opinion, I agree with the first three. haha. McAulay has had his fair share of SBs and I've never thought Coleman was bad, just not the best. It'd be quite impressive for JP to get it in his first eligible year.

I think either Morelli or Parry gets the Super Bowl this year. Both deserving.

If McAulay scores the Super Bowl assignment then he has truly separated himself from other referees of this generation of officials.

Oh come on guys. you're all still buying into this rating malarkey....please. Nobody has really had a great year or a bad year, well Winter's crew has had a tough year at least in my opinion as I saw them in two horrible games in the Meadowlands in games involving both the Jets and Giants, others thought Morelli had worked a bad game and according to Mike Periera he was spot on for all 3 challenges that Giants fans are crying about (they also callerd 10 penalties against the Jets as opposed to only 5 against the Giants so how cdan they say the Giants got the short end) but then again I could go on and on. They will assign officials, like they always do, with one eye on politics and should consider some sort of rotation if an official idoes not mess up. My opinion has never changed one bit over the years. If you suck, get rid of you If you're adequate, you rotate the plum assignments. There are plenty of more than adequate officials (and I really only know the television stars namely the guys wearing the white caps) who for one reason or another never got the top assignments and there was nothing wrong with them while others, who seemed more flamboyant on the mic got them. I watched Red Cashion freeze up plenty of times even before the mess up in the Super Bowl (which always goes unnoticed as the game was so one sided) until he began shouting at the top of his lungs, "First down." He wasn't a bad referee, of course, but he simply at least in my opinion wasn't one of the stars but he got cc and super bowl assignments after that. Gordon McCarter, Larry Nemmers to name a cuple were perfectly adequate as referees yet evidently rubbed the supervisors the wrong way, yet both had long careers as referees. Is there anybody here who thinks they weren't deserving of at least one cc or Super Bowl during that time?
If you guys continue to buy into this ratings business, I can't help it. But it's politics, it's always politics and it will always be politics so while it's fun to speculate the way we do here, they're gong to do whatever they do and then try to justify it by the "ratings." Just you wait and see.
