And now, Morelli rules that Sanchez fumbled a ball when the play CLEARLY should have been ruled an incomplete pass.
This crew has been brutal today.

I understand the tuck rule, but I don't think it applied here because the ball was knocked out of the QB's hand by a defensive player. It absolutely applies. If the QB is tucking, the manner in which the ball comes loose is irrelevant. I'm not fond of the rule myself, but it exists.

Lots of tough calls in Jet-Giant game....for the most part, they got them right although needed replay to get a couple...all were very close calls which could have gone either way.

Not a good game for Morelli's crew. I give them a 1.5, and I think that's being generous.
This might open the door for other officials to get into the Super Bowl as I though Morelli had a VERY poor game.

Do remember....an overturned replay is considered a good call; they are not penalized for making a call on the field that is properly overturned. I didn't see anything that was egregeously bad...some controversial calls true but every one was very close and defensible. It was a very tough game to work.

Lions game, face mask on Stafford not called, way have been had the U been left in their normal position. Not R85's crews fault. Overall very few flags, a bit chippy before, and during the game, quickly dispatched without any damage, and I would say 3.85 for an overall. Nothing outstanding but the two teams performances made for an enteraining game.

Anderson - Worked last year Blakeman - Not enough service time Corrente - Battling throat cancer and unless he is planning to retire I cannot see the league jeopardizing his recovery with pressures of Super Bowl Green - Missed time with injuries Leavy - Probably biggest competition to Morelli Hochuli, Carey, and Steratore have all had more down games than Morelli. McAulay if the info we get through the grapevine is correct is having a down year

Tuck rule play in the Jets-Giants game. Mark Sanchez attempts to throw a pass, pulls it towards his body, and has the ball knocked out of his hand by a defender. The play was ruled a fumble on the field and then overturned after a challenge. I understand the tuck rule, but I don't think it applied here because the ball was knocked out of the QB's hand by a defensive player. Correct.

Saw bits and pieces of Morelli's, Hochuli's, and Leavy's crews today. I didn't think Morelli had THAT bad of a game, although I couldn't watch that closely today because of family Christmas preparations!

Carl Cheffers and crew had a good day in Charlotte. Late in the game they had to sort out a play involving a clipping penalty, a Tampa Bay fumble and a Tampa Bay personal foul at the end of the play. Since the Panthers recovered the fumble, the clip was disregarded and the personal foul was enforced with the Panthers getting possession. There was one questionable OPI against Tampa Bay early in the game. I give the crew a 3.8.

Saw a tweet from MP about a possible goal tending on a FG attempt in Oak/KC. Does anyone know what happened?

Yes, the Raiders were atempting a long field goal, and the Chefs had a player under the goal post, the ball hits the cross bar, the player jumped like he was going to block it, but it hit the cross bar instead. If the player would have touched the ball, the flag would have been thrown, if i heard this correctly. Maybe someone else saw this, and heard the explanation. I was in the eggnog by then, so go figure!!!!!!!!

Saw Don Carey at another game, don't remember which one, so I'm guessing there was a switch because of travel issues.
