NFL might learn from this play. Make the call a score and let review make correct call. Good overturn!

Guess I was wrong. Probably the right call as a couple of angles showed the ball moving as the receiver landed on the ground.

The Pac 12 crew gets a 4.0 from me. There were several gut-busting calls, but the crew got them right and made this a better game.
We've seen OUTSTANDING officiating in all 3 BCS games so far.

Tough review coming up for Stricherz. If I had a say, the play would stand. Remember, in NCAA, the replay official is solely responsible for upholding or overturning a call on replay. I kind of like it that way - at least for college.

YIKES! I'm watching the game on DVR. I'd have let the TD stand; however, the replay official is better trained than I.

I can't argue with that. The on-field crew worked a flawless game. The replay in OT was (in my mind) debatable, but I can definitely see why there was an overturn. Put it this way: VT made many mistakes and if they executed in regulation we never get to OT. Pac-12 officials have had a bad reputation over the years. Tony Corrente and Mike Pereira have done a great job in upgrading the staff on the fly.

Jay Stricherz did a nice job with the coin toss. That's about all too

I know I'm a Hokie and we beat ourselves, but the LJ blew a play dead WAY to early and should've been a vt first. The hosely dpi int was crap as was the no-catch td in OT. They messed up big. Called a td is must stand.

Called a td is must stand. Clearly your VT homerism is showing. The only thing that was debatable was the TD in OT. It was absolutely PI on Hosley as he pushed off to gain an advantage. PI all seven days of the week. Good RTK call against #26 also. I also know the point when you believe a LJ blew a play dead too early and agree with you there. I thought the crew overall did a very good job. I have been so impressed with these crews during all the BCS games.

Yes, an originally ineligible player becomes eligible after a defensive player (or an official) touches the pass...but, the Michigan interior linemen were weel beyond 3 yards downfield prior to the pass. That is a 5 yard foul, previous spot.

Any replay I've seen looked like two athletes playing for the ball, and the WR puts his hand on the DB and falls down. FIFA worthy acting. It shouldn't have gotten to the point it did cuz VT was clearly better, but there was ZERO evidence to overturn the OT td catch from anything I've seen or anything any sports people I've read or heard saw. The replay guy messed up in the most crucial moment

Sorry, kbyrd. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on the OT catch/non-catch. I felt the replay clearly showed that the ground helped him make that catch and the overturn was spot on. It's also being reported that he was out of bounds by a smidge when he "caught" the ball. (I'm a Syracuse grad - no vested interest either way.)
