I expect Coleman and Hannah will have their hands full with holding when this kind of OL/DL is being played =D

Tuning in for a spell in the second quarter.
I'm watching Jeff Bergman closely. I hope he's back next year.
They're just out there recreating, and that's about it.

No penalties in the first half. Maybe we'll never hear Coleman on the mic.

Since he is the PB alternate, guessing that Greg bradley was the last ranked official that got something, unless the vets in front of him turned it down.

Defense is not at a premium in this game.

There were no penalties called in this game. Steve Stelljes threw a flag for holding in the first half and a horse collar in the second half. Coleman picked both flags up and his facial expression basically said "Are you seriously throwing a flag in this game?" The funny thing is the horse collar if it stood would have been a terrible call. I guess that's why Stelljes didn't work in the playoffs. LOL
Question: Do you think this is considered a higher assignment than an alternate? If I were a guessing man I would say yes because at least these guys are on the field.

I'd agree, Russ. On the field, plus, from what I've heard before, the refs usually get half the week in Honolulu, so that's a huge perk.

There was a missed drop kick by Drew Brees.
Here is where it landed:

I dont get the point of assigning officials to the PB. The players arent going to hurt anyone as there would be revenge against said player in a regular game and this was when they were trying different things.

There was also defensive holding(good call) in the endzone, but the wr caught the pass so call was declined. This was the only time I saw and heard Coleman.
I hope no one ever gets injured during one of these games, I am not sure why it is played.

This game to me is useless, it is nothing but a made for media extravanganza, and you could tell the players we're going to exert themselves. Why risk an injury in a game like this? The NHL and NBA the same way. The only All Star Game that has any significance is the MLB game, as it determines home field advantage in the World Series. This game was sooo boring I went to sleep around half time, I had a better game on my eyelids.
