Did the nfl allow it's officials to work in the usfl or were they banned?

I did not know Lepore did a game. I thought he was supervisor only. Interesting.
While the NFL officials could have worked the USFL since it was a spring/summer league the first two years, I'm sure McNally et al would have frowned on it severely.
But it looks like the NFL let bygones be bygones as several former USFL officials were brought into the NFL after the USFL folded.

An interview with Cal Lepore in 1985 as the USFL's Supervisor of Officials. Interestingly, the games that were not televised back then didn't had instant replay.

Here is video of the game Lepore worked. I wonder if he intended to work all season on the field and discovered that his body wasn't up to it after a two-year layoff or if he just wanted to "work one more."

In response to the below list requesting help in compiling a list of USFL officials. In 1983 most college groups DIV 1 would not allow their officials to work in this league. In 1984, Jack Springer, Supervisor for the PAC-10 gave the OK for us to work. I think there were 13 that did? Prior to that, 1983, Ben Pope worked and might be the missing BJ. Among the group that came from the PAC-10 was future PAC-10 supervisor, Verle Sorgen, Present day Replay supervisor, Bill Richardson, PAC10/12 replay official, Jim Fogeltance, Long time Pac 10 officials, Gaylord Bryan, Dave Kamanski, Don Wilson, John Pemberton and myself. Probably could work on getting the rest but NOT bad for my old brain.
