Retired NHL referee Mick McGeough has suffered a stroke and has been taken off life support.

How horrible. And so young.
I remember him taking very strong control of several games during his career. Was was not afraid to bruise some egos when getting a game under control after a line brawl.
My sympathies to all who knew and loved him.

This might be one of the more famous McGeough moments. He was big and strong and he took matters into his own hands during a line brawl.
While probably not the recommended way to do things, and I'm glad no one was hurt, it was kind of entertaining to see a referee toss a player around, when the officials are usually the ones getting the short end of the stick in breaking things up.
