Looks like we will need a new Referee in the ACC and AAC. The most likely candidates for the new ACC white hat are probably Marcus Woods or Larry Saunders both of whom are current CJ's. Woods has been highly successful in his first 2 years in the ACC working the ACC Championship in 2017 and the Fiesta Bowl in 2018. He was also a fill in Referee during a couple non-conference games in 2018. Saunders has also been in the ACC the last 2 seasons and while he has not worked a Bowl Game in either season he was a longtime FCS Referee consistently working FCS playoff games. He also worked the FCS Playoffs this season and was a fill in Referee in non-conference.
Just because Woods has a better Bowl game resume does not mean he will be the next Referee. Stuart Mullins was promoted after never working a bowl game in his 2 seasons as a SJ and that has turned out pretty well.
Another possibility is promoting somebody like Michael Roche or Adam Savoie from the AAC.

I think highly of both. I don’t know as much about the other retiring officials, but congratulations to all on a successful career! If the NFL does not hire Adam Savoie, I would put my money on him to get Epperley’s spot...though you couldn’t go wrong with Michael Roche, either.

Jeff Cooney and Bruce Williams (both AAC) were selected to take over the Colonial/Ivy/Patriot from Jim Maconaghy following his retirement, as co-coordinators, so assuming they'll be retiring from on-field duties.

Per the standalone thread, Matt Austin has retired from the field and joined ESPN/SEC Network as a rules analyst.
