Chris Fowler just said Gary McNanna is the replay official tonight and that he has the final say on all reviews (though the PAC-12 command center is also weighing in). I thought T-Bone Terry Leyden was working this one!?!
It was Gary’s notes on Woodie Dixon’s interference in a 2018 targeting review that went viral and sparked a big change during the off-season.
Clemson loses James Skalski on a targeting foul, initiated by instant replay. The initial ruling was no call, but instant replay dropped the flag and ejected Skalski
Back judge picks up late hit Back judge Joe Johnston comes a long way to flag this late hit after the play. The action is completely unnecessary and it took excellent focus to get this foul. The deep wing is too far and is straightlined; the line of scrimmage official is too close and needs to be watching the runner. Johnston's depth allowed him to see Magee wind up away from the play and come in late.
