Click to enlarge. Mostly we have crews together this week, very little deviation. Not speculating on any changes. As always, appreciate your spotter's sense, and let us know if anyone is not as assigned above.

The infrequent 5/15 enforcement rule shows up in Miami. The Dolphins are called for an ineligible receiver downfield on an incomplete pass. However, Chiefs LB Anthony Hitchens pops the intended receiver well after the play, drawing the flag. Good job on Clay Martin & crew to correctly sort out.

This is why the referee and umpire need to do their best to get to the goal line during reverse mechanics.
Efe Obada picks up a fumble and almost scores a touchdown.
Umpire Ruben Fowler has to get out of the way of the players and gets a late start to the goal line. This is proper as rule one on reverse mechanics is stay safe.
Referee Shawn Hochuli has a more clear field and motors down the field just trailing Obada.
He's clearly short of the goal line, but this is a good illustration why an official needs to get to the goal line as quickly and safely as possible.

Back judge Jimmy Russell flags the Vikings Kentrell Brothers for pass interference on this Hail Mary pass at the end of the first half. The foul allowed the Buccaneers one untimed down, where they kicked a field goal. For years, NFL officials have been told not to call a pass interference on any team on a Hail Mary pass - it is every player for himself. This is not a traditional jump ball Hail Mary. Brothers was contacting Rob Gronkowski beginning at the five yard line, well before the jump ball action. Officials officiate this play the same as any other play. Then, when a bunch of players all converge and go up for a jump ball, that is when officials don't call pass interference. I think this is a good call. streamable.com/aely1n

Opinion on the Cards kicking the ball out of the Giants hands? Apparently not a reviewable facet of a turnover.

Opinion on the Cards kicking the ball out of the Giants hands? Apparently not a reviewable facet of a turnover. Can't put down a flag for illegal kicking, because it is still a judgment call. The fact that the leg lifts up in an unnatural position makes this really suspect. But a quick hit like this, making it appear inadvertent and in traffic, and you rarely get this call. It would have been a good get, but I don't expect to see that called on the field. streamable.com/s93vmn
