I think David Smith gets it from the SEC. Although, he is a Bama graduate, and I think that may not be allowed. In that case, I’ll say that Williamson gets the rematch. Yep, he’s the 2nd best in the SEC, and David Smith can’t do it for that reason.

Shaw is not going to give the SEC the Clemson/OSU game after last year’s controversial game. Sorry, it’s just not going to happen. Though it would be a hilarious and incredible troll job if he did do that and McDaid gave the game to Williamson.

I personally would be shocked if Cruse doesn’t get the Championship. Personally, I find him to be the best in the Big 12.

Does anybody know who is working tomorrow's game in Myrtle Beach?
Or when assignments for the bulk of the games are posted? I know this year is totally different, but I like to keep an eye on some of my boys!

My NY6 Guesses:
National Championship: Brandon Cruse (Big 12) Rose Bowl (Notre Dame vs Alabama): Ron Snodgrass (Big Ten) Sugar Bowl (Ohio State vs Clemson): David Smith (SEC)
Cotton Bowl (Florida vs Oklahoma): Chris Coyte (Pac-12) Peach Bowl (Cincinnati vs Georgia): Riley Johnson (ACC) Fiesta Bowl (Oregon vs Iowa State): James Carter (SEC) Orange Bowl (UNC vs Texas A&M): Jerry McGinn (Big Ten)
EDIT: Changed a few guesses around. With the Big 12 likely getting the National Championship it is unlikely they will get a second NY6 game. I also didn't think the ACC would work 2 NY6 games 3 seasons in a row and with the Pac-2 never having received more than 1 NY6 that leaves only the SEC and Big Ten to get two games. And with the SEC being in 3 of the 4 non Playoff NY6 games that leaves only the Sugar and Fiesta as possibilities for the SEC. So I have the SEC working the Ohio State-Clemson rematch. I honestly don't think Steve Shaw will have any issue doing that.

My NY6 Guesses: National Championship: Brandon Cruse (Big 12) Rose Bowl (Notre Dame vs Alabama): Ron Snodgrass (Big Ten) Sugar Bowl (Ohio State vs Clemson): Chris Coyte (Pac-12) Cotton Bowl (Florida vs Oklahoma): Stuart Mullins (ACC) Peach Bowl (Cincinnati vs Georgia): David Alvarez (Big 12) Fiesta Bowl (Oregon vs Iowa State): James Carter (SEC) Orange Bowl (UNC vs Texas A&M): Jerry McGinn (Big Ten) Don’t agree with Carter. He’s a good ref, but not NY6 ready yet IMO. Same with Alvarez. Usually the conference with the NC doesn’t get a double anyway. I also would take O’Neill over Snodgrass. On a slightly off-topic, Does anyone know why James Carter never does Alabama games, like Ken Williamson never does Florida games?? I understand that David Smith played QB for Alabama, so that’s why he doesn’t do those games, but any idea on the others??

Never really thought about it but you're right, the Conference with the National Championship has never doubled up since the Playoff has started, I will change that selection. Regarding Carter I read an article a few years ago that he had a kid who attended Alabama which is why he never works Bama games. Same is true with Duane Heydt and Clemson. Not sure on Williamson and Florida but wouldn't be surprised if it is a similar situation. I see what you are saying with Carter and Alvarez but Carter did work the SEC Championship last season and with McDaid retired that moves everybody up a slot. Could easily see Williamson or Smith in the NY6 also. Big 12 was decimated this offseason and based on assignments this season Alvarez seems like he is pretty clearly number 2 in the Big 12 even with Campbell and Van Vark being in the Big 12 longer.

James Carter worked the SEC Championship in 2019, something Ken Williamson has never done. Williamson worked the CFP last year. So under what guise is Carter "not ready" for the CFP?

I prefer Williamson and David Smith, and I doubt Loeffler will get a NY6 bowl since he did the SEC championship, but after those three, I definitely agree he’s the best. No question I think Carter is outstanding. Again, it’s not a knock against Carter, it’s that the margins are so tight between these refs. He’ll probably get one in a year or two, I just like those three better this year.
