FF7
When did Botchan serve with Pete Morelli. Morelli did not become a crew chief until 2003 replacing Hantak. Botchan retired in 2001 with Leavy.

You are correct jc. Morelli was on a crew with Botchan when 135 was a black hat.
Corrected copy and added that Botchan also served with Chuck Heberling.

Fred, who were some of the officials with Ron Botchan in the article? I recognized Jerry Markbreit, and I think Tony Streatore.

I think an argument can be made that Botchan is one of the best Officials in NFL history. Working 5 Super Bowls and many more CC's he was consistently the top Umpire in the league. The stretch he had from 1992-2001 (his final season) was remarkable.
1992- Super Bowl 1993- AFC CC 1994- Super Bowl 1995- NFC CC 1996- Super Bowl 1997- NFC CC 1998- NFC CC 1999- Super Bowl 2000- NFC CC 2001- NFC CC
R.I.P. to an Officiating legend.

I do not know who the African American gentleman is posing with Botchan and Markbreit. Another photo is Botchan with Tony Corrente and, I think, Terry Killens. A final photo that I can ID, I see Botchan with Jim Quirk, Sr.

Buddy Horton is with Botchan and Markbreit.
Fred Bryan is with Botchan and Corrente with Carl Paganelli off Tony's shoulder.
