Gentlemen,
Onside Kick question:
A team we were playing kicked a slow dribble kick directly down the field, with the Kicker following right behind.
The Kicker recovered the kick, and the team attempted the same kick the next kickoff and it was a close call on that one.
The other coaches were telling me we should send a KOR team player to block the K so we could recover the kick.
At what point after he makes contact is the Kicker able to be legally blocked? Can we cross into the 10 yard zone to block him?
Thanks in advance.

Once the onside kick has touched the ground, team R can block team K in the neutral zone. Team R can enter the neutral zone once the ball is kicked.
But, the kick MUST have touched the ground.
This is using NFHS rules.
And all blocks must be legal (no blindside blocks, blocks below the waist or in the back, etc.).
