Biggest surprise omission is Kevin Scott as he has worked the Conference Finals each of the last 3 seasons. He was out for about 6 weeks during the season from February 16th to March 26th before returning. So it is possible his absence in the Playoffs is related to that absence. Whatever the case that means we will need 2 new Conference Finals Officials this season. Sean Corbin similarly was out from January 4th to March 8th, worked one game and then missed the rest of the season. This will be the second time in four seasons he misses the Playoffs due to a prolonged absence.
Congrats to Ervin, Dalen and Van Duyne on their first On court Playoff Assignments. Also good to see Buchert, Petraitis and Twardoski back. Petraitis returns after a 1 year absence and Buchert and Twardoski after 2 year absences.

official.nba.com/nba-announces-officials-for-second-round-of-2022-nba-playoffs/Went 28/28 on my picks! First time in the second round for Lane, Jacyn Goble, Petraitis and Ervin, Ervin gets to the Second Round in his first Playoff. All 8 of the Officials done after the first round plus Leon Wood are listed as alternates but there is no way all of them will actually be used as alternates. The first round had 8 alternates listed but only 4 were used so I imagine it will be a similar scenario this round. Down from the Second Round Last Year: Mauer, Scott, Corbin, M. Smith Done After the First Round: M. Smith, Buchert, Cutler, Barnaky, DeRosa, Twardoski, Dalen, Van Duyne Returning to the Second Round: None New to the Second Round: Lane, Jacyn Goble, Petaritis, Ervin

Scott Foster was scratched from Bucks-Celtics Game 6 due to a Non-Covid illness. Eric Lewis moved up from the 2 spot to be the CC, Ben Taylor from 3 to 2, Tre Maddox from alternate to 3 and Nick Buchert was brought in to be the alternate. Buchert lives in the Chicagoland area so it made sense to have him drive up to Milwaukee for the game. Lewis was a CC during the first round so they at least had someone with Playoff CC experience to fill in.

official.nba.com/nba-announces-officials-for-2022-conference-finals/Conference Finals Officials announced. We've got three changes with Kennedy and Malloy returning to the Conference Finals and Lindsay being the only new guy. Good year for the Lindsay family as his brother Joe worked his first career Elite 8 in the NCAA Tournament this year. Mauer and Scott are obviously down from the Conference Finals and so is Tom Washington. This is the first time since 2000 that Washington has worked the Playoffs and not gotten to at least the Conference Finals, He didn't work the Playoffs at all in 2001 or 2020. Also just like last round they listed the rest of the second round Officials as alternates. I doubt more than 4 will actually be alternates though. Down from the Second Round- Mauer, Scott, Washington Done After Second Round- Washington, Mott, Maddox, Forte, Lane, Jacyn Goble, Petraitis, Ervin Returning to the Conference Finals- Kennedy, Malloy New to the Conference Finals- Lindsay
