Haven't watched much March Madness this year. Have they had Gene Steratore on during the Tournament?

Congrats to all of the Officials named to the Final 4. 6 of the Officials are the same as last year which I am not the biggest fan of. It is becoming similar to what the NBA used to be where it is really hard to be replaced once you make it to the Final 4. But those 6 are legitimately great Officials who work many big games.
Good to see Higgins and Kissinger return to the Final 4. Higgins was on a tear in the mid 2010's but this is his first Final 4 since 2017 although he has worked 2 Elite 8's in that time period. Kissinger works his first since 2018.
With 3 newcomers it looks like at least one will get an on court assignment. Most likely that will be Bert Smith as he as an alternate in the Final 4 last year and Reed and Szelc have not yet.
My guesses for the Final 4 Assignments: FAU-SDSU: Oglesby, Kimble, Kissinger, Szelc (ALT) Mimai-Uconn: Groover, Higgins, Smith, Szelc (ALT) Championship- Anderson, Sirmons, Ayers, Reed (ALT)

Has it always been 11 selected or did it used to be 10 with 1 alternate for both Saturday and Monday? Am I misremembering?

In 2021 they went to 11 I believe because they wanted more backup in case an Official got Covid and they have stuck with it the last 2 years.

Bert Smith's first final four floor assignment was a doozy! So happy for Bert. Not only was it his first Final 4 Assignment but it came 2 years after he had to leave an Elite 8 game after collapsing. So great to see him recover fully from that scary ordeal and remain one of the best Officials in the country.

I thought the national championship crew of Ron Groover, Keith Kimble, & Terry Oglesby did a reasonably good job tonight. One or two eh's, but hardly anything that majorly impacted UCONN's double-digit win over San Diego State.
