McElwee retired when he was either 67 or 68 years old. Markbreit retired when he was 64.

McElwee retired when he was either 67 or 68 years old. Markbreit retired when he was 64. Wasn't there some sort of "issue" when Gerry Austin retired? I think he was 67. I seem to remember something along the lines that the NFL basically told him he's retiring. Truth be told, I think it was better that way. I felt bad for him watching his last season, it looked like his on-field mechaniacs were slipping. I'm glad he went out with a playoff game, although I wish Larry Nemmers had as well.
