Interesting.... I wonder if the incident with the fan in the playoffs last year had anything to do with the decision to retire from the NBA? Usually retirement means becoming a supervisor, trainer, or just walking away from the game.

I believe both gentlemen left over the constant grind of travel over a long season. College is shirter and they probably got top compensation.

Lenny Wirtz, the famous NCAA officia,l worked some years in the NBA, and then returned to colleges where he finished a stellar career.
