Long, long overdue. They should also do out/safe on plays at first and all force plays. I will leave tag plays on the bases out because they are a bit subjective.....the accepted call is if the ball beats the runner and it's a good throw, even if the tag is not actually made until the runner gets to the base, it is almost always called out. I accept that. But there have been countless calls blown at first base durng this season.
I also hope they dn't do it the same way the NFL and NBA do it and more like the NHL. Have the call made off a monitor in the league war room in NY with access to both team's feeds. With modern technology, the crew chief can have a head set in constant communication with the war room so he can discuss the play with the replay officials in NY. Having the umpires leave the field or the referee in an NFL game go under the hood is what takes up time. 99% of replays in the NFL can be quickly resolved without the whole ceremony of the referee going under the hood or the umpires leaving the field to go to the video room.

cj not to mention double plays where nobody actually steps on second base. I pity the crew with Mike DiMuro as they will be reviewing a lot

cj not to mention double plays where nobody actually steps on second base. I pity the crew with Mike DiMuro as they will be reviewing a lot I have no problem with that call much like the tag play I mentioned above (if the throw is a good one and the ball beats the runner to the bag, the unwritten rule in baseball is the runner is out). It has becvome accepted in baseball that to prevent injury, the middle person on a double play be given some lee way as long as the throw is accurate It is a matter of judgment. What you want with replay is black or white calls...you know safe or out on a force play, fair or foul, catch or trap...when you start getting into judgment, you are climbing a slippery slope.
