I don'tknow how many of you saw the game between Canada and the United States in women's football (soccer). With Canada leading 3-2, the referee reached deep into her book of the laws and called the Canadian goalkeeper for taking more than 6 seconds to take a goal kick after stopping the ball and laying on the ground for several seconds. This led to an indirect free kick for ther US at the top of the box. From there, a US shot bounced off the arm of a Canadian defender who did not move into the ball and seemed to be turning away with her arm not extended and the referee called a penalty which resulted in the tying goal for the Americans.
It was horrible and another example of an official deciding to decide a match with nonsensical calls.

Oh, my entire country saw it. The media here is quite livid.
There was also a situation where an American girl was injured. The Canadian player, who had possession of the ball, directly kicked the ball OOB so that the the injured player could be attended to.
But when the USA had the ensuing throw-in, did they proceed to kick the ball out of bounds to give Canada their possession back?
Nope, of course not! There is no defense to not reciprocating the courtesy.
For that reason, I will no longer watch an American soccer game.
Regarding the inequitable officiating, our only hope is that the woman official is reprimanded severely. Though, I'm not holding my breath.
