I don't put faith into officials putting on 20 pounds during the season. I am not the ideal of physical fitness, yet during the season I lose weight just by working games. You'd have to be really packing on the calories in order to gain 20 pounds during the season.
Ray Anderson and the NFL management continue to do great harm to the relationship between itself and the NFL officials. When the regulars get back, there will be deep resentment, suspicion, and bad blood between the NFLRA and management for many years to come.

:cough: Steve Wilson :cough:
When I officiated sports at the local level the first season or two I did put on a little weight because I had too much body fat so all of the exercise plus extra work to stay in shape between games so I could perform better on the field I was converting fat to muscle. At the NFL level they should be far beyond that point
