Why does Jim Core get 2 games this week? Because he's one of the better officials and the NFL wants to have it's best replacements on the highest profile games. Expect him on many SNF and MNF games during the lockout. |

Because of the oddity of the Wednesday game, there is a 5-day break between. That is the same as a Sunday-to-Thursday turnaround between weeks.
Since Core obviously impressed the officiating department (certainly before his replay to "take another look"), and because there is an extra primetime game, it makes sense to put him on the Monday late game. After his work in the Kickoff game, it really makes sense.
Which begs the question, are the primetime officials going to primarily shuffle amongst themselves?
