In Green Bay, there are not glaring mechanical issues so far. There was a little delay on the phantom IBB penalty enforcement, but so far no official has been drastically out of position.

Phantom illegal block on the back on a punt in Green Bay. Not even close. Pereira tweets about call: On block in back on kicking team (SF v GB): I am perplexed. That was a botched call. There was no foul.

Okay....did anybody see anything really really bad? I don't mean missed holding (holding calls of course are missed in every game)....I watched mostly the Jet game and the crew did okay and from what I saw on the red zone channel, I saw nothing out of the ordinary. Of course the officials here will point to poor mechanics (I'm sure there were), missed calls (I'm sure there were) but no more than when the regular guys are out there. The league spent the whole pre season training these guys and unfortunately for manhy here who look at this through their own perceived feelings for the regular guys (whom I have absolutely nothing against). I watched the Jets game and had one ey eye on the red zone channel and I'll question one thing in a second. Nothing out of the ordinary nor anything out of the ordinary in any of the games I had one eye on. I'm sure some will point to missed holding calls and poor mechanics but so what. Nothing affected the outcome of any game.
In the Jets game rule experts are needed. As the clock was winding down in the 4th quarter, with less than 2:25 to go, the Jets with the clock running were nailed for delay of the game when the play clock ran out. But after enforcng the penalty, the officials put the game clock and the play clock with 25 seconds back in motion. Was this correct or does the clock supposed to stop on enforcement of all penalties in the last 5 minutes? The Jets made it worse by not staying in the huddle, allowing the play clock to run out which it wouldn't have as the game clock would have reached 2 minutes and then 3 knees with Buffalo out of time outs would have ended the game but the Jets oblivious went out and played it for real and score the last touchdown. I think the officials were wrong here but so were the Jets....they did not have to score that last touchdown. Was Rex Ryan being classless? Or perhaps he didn't notice the officials might have blown it.
Anybody with any comments.

Harbaugh losing his mind in the San Fransicso/Green Bay game. #99 for San Fran sacked the QB. As the play was ending #99's helmet started to come off, forcing him to sit for a down. #99 flipped the helmet off and the officials penalized him USC for taking his helmet off. First and 10 Green Bay and Harbaugh has gone loco in cabeza. MP tweets that it was a good call: His hat was not on right after hitting ground. BUT...throwing helmet to ground? he should've just pulled it back down again.
It wasn't "thrown" per say IMO, but he definitely flipped it off of his head with some attitude. It was premeditated.

Clock stops inside 5 minutes for all penalties. Accepted, declined, and offsetting.

Lots of flags in Green Bay so far, but most have been justified. Both coaches are throwing a hissy fit on the sidelines.

Pereira tweet at 2 min. warning in GB:
Here's what I think of the officiating in Green Bay/San Francisco for first half: Not too strong... at this point.

Fouls in Buffalo/Jets game. 2nd down and 10. Offensive hold followed by dead ball PF on Defense. Ruling: Offset, replay the down.........oooopps! This is a correct enforcement in the NFL, unlike NCAA or HS. A live ball foul can be combined with a dead-ball foul in the immediate continuing action to create a double or multiple fouls.

I thought most of the 12:00 crews did nice jobs, I was very impressed with Elliott in Chicago although it was a blowout. However, David White and company have not looked great thus far.
