Missed helmet to helmet call by GB #38 on Frank Gore. I stand corrected. Thanks to zebrablog for the clarification

A complete circus in Arizona as the officials are trying to figure out how many timeouts Seattle has left.

And according to Pereira, Seattle was given a 4th timeout.

Confusion whether or not Seahawks, with :30 left and in the red zone, are out of timeouts. Seattle called TO, Cardinals say they are out. Officials on the horn upstairs.

Cj, still watching these games? Are the Officials affecting the outcome of games? Depends on what you consider the outcome I suppose. The final play or no-call on 3rd and 8 for DPI that then results in a punt early in the 4th may affect the outcome. This is outrageous! Some administrative stuff was really messed up, that's for sure. Personally, I've said this before, I never get upset in watching a game when some call is not made. We can argue that from now till the chickens come home to roost. But there's no excuse for the confusion regarding the time outs in The Arizona game nor starting the clock in the Jets game. I don't know if it's going to be enough to raise a big stink to settle on the part of management on anything but what they management wants. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, of course.

Peter King just said on NBC there were no big problems until the foul up in tje Arozpna-Seattle game but since the SeaHawks did not score it proved to be harmless.
Whether it's enough for the NFL to cave is another story. I think not (which is not to say the calls we referred to weren't poor). Another week of replacement officials are ahead of us I suspect.

Helmet-to helmet does not count when it's against the runner, because he is not defenseless. refs.ws/deflsAlso, to clarify, the replay officials are collectively bargained by the NFLRA the year after the on-field officials. Usually, the on-field CBA provides a basis for the replay official CBA. Sure, they could honor the lockout by not crossing the line, but don't expect a job at the end of the lockout.

FOX already reported replacements for week 2. And no this wasnt enough to force one side to cave in on the negotiations.

Here's what I don't get. The League has claimed they have put things in place to prevent these administrative foul ups. Why didn't the replay official or the league supervisor ask the referee if he had charged Seatle with its third time out (after all they would have seen there was no time out signal nor was there the required notification by the referee to the Seattle coach that they were now out of time outs). Conspiracy on the part of the replay guy and the supervisor to make the officials look bad? Don't think so but....

How many Illegal Formation flags will 118 throw? I thought officials allowed a Timeout that should have been Delay of Game and they missed 12 men at the snap earlier on
