Great sharing, as always, FredFan7. Nice article, although kind of a scary hypothetical. It never occurred to me the role officials/penalties have with game totals and home team success.
Klemko creates a great argument that favors the NFLRA by creating an "at risk" flag on the replacement referees. NFL security better be hard at work filling gaps and preventing holes that may tear into a horrible mess.

A few hours before the Cowboys-Giants season opener, I posted a commentary at Football-Refs. Though I didn't express any specific reasons why the replacement officials concern me, corruption is easily my #1 concern. It's why I was uncertain whether or not to be involved in assignments, and why I'm waiting to put up my own assignments until the day before the game.

Thanks FredFan7...some interesting points, time for the NFL to get their heads out of the sand and end this mess.

All hypotheticals and innuendos but no actual proof. Every single instance the article talks about can be rebutted by a non-sinister reason. The spreads could be a result of small sample size and the overall sloppiness of games early in the season favors the home team but in matches that are usually closer than they should be. I noticed that the article does not comment on how the ATS fared through 2 weeks in past seasons. In addition, the higher number of DPI could easily be due to DB's thinking they can get away with more because of a, possibly mistaken, belief that the replacements would be too timid to throw the flag. Look at Aqib Talib last week in the Tampa Bay @ New York Giants game. I think there was a series where he got flagged on a number of consecutive passing plays for holding and DPI because he had a fistful of jersey on each play. Also, we have seen dubious calls with the regular officials yet we do not see this board or articles screaming corruption
