The famous Reggie Jackson play in the World Series.
We see Joe Brinkman, Frank Pulli, and glimpses of Bill Haller, Marty Springstead, and Ed Vargo.

According to Brinkman, he was worried because he thought he had blown a call - that Bill Russell might have deliberately dropped the liner! Look at that play with that in mind, and see what you thought happened. Russell really guided that ball to the ground, didn't he?
Its much more obvious in the broadcast of the game...YES occasionally plays this game as part of their 'Yankee Classics' series.

But Russell was the shortstop for LA, right? So wouldn't it have been Pulli's call on that too....in other words he might have blown it twice (note the word might, plase).
I would always love to hear Frank's explanation today of what he thinks now of the call!

The Russel part of the play is Brinkman's. That's why you see him signalling "safe" so emphatically. Brinkman was prepared for the Yankees to argue an intentional drop. Then Reggie did his think.
I don't think I've ever heard Pulli explain the play......
