From 1988: Nebraska at UCLA. Nebraska's Mark Blazek intercepts a pass and his knee hits the turf, obvious to everyone in the Rose Bowl and on TV. Except the officials, who let the play go and awarded Blazek a bad touchdown. Talk about needing instant replay .

I have no idea how this crew missed it.
I think this was back in the days of using mixed crews. I think this was a Big 8 and Pac-10 crew working this game. There might not have been effective crew coordination or communication.
Still, a mixed crew is no excuse, period. The H, S, and B were all looking at it.
That was an embarrassing miss that fortunately didn't seem to impact the outcome of the game.
