Before leaving for Russia, to join the Russian team in the World Championships (that must have been on his mind as he went through the motions in last night's game; after all Kovalchuk needs some help), Alex Ovechkin had some very unkind things to say about the refereeing in the pivotal sixth game of the series.
I will say this and you can take it for whatever it is worth. I have watched NHL playoffs hockey for going on 50 years now, and even in the hey day of the Philadelphia Flyers and the Broad Street bullies, I have never seen a playoff game where one team had five power plays and the other none like in zero. Draw your own conclusions.

Maybe. But they lost at home 5-0. Talk about trying to deflect a sorry performance by the home team.
